The Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund has begun a funding drive to support Councilmember Susan Eggman's campaign for State Assembly District 13. The drive was spurred by the recent defacing of some of Eggman's lawn signs in the Stockton area.
In spite of the negativity, Victory Fund offers some encouraging facts about this year's election. If Eggman is elected, she will be the first out Latina in California's Assembly. In addition, thanks to her and other out candidates, this year California's LGBT legislative caucus could grow to become the largest in the nation.
The Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund is a national politicial action committee that is dedicated to increasing the number of openly LGBT public officials. For more information about the Victory Fund and how to support Susan Eggman and other out candidates around the nation, visit www.victoryfund.org.
